Tomatoes & Vegetables


Photo of Shenot Farm tomatoesOur earliest planting of tomatoes are set in the field under row covers–keeping them protected from frost.

This first picking is usually ready to harvest in mid to late July, depending on the moon phases.

All of our tomato varieties–slicing  tomatoes, roma, and cherry–are vine-ripened and are available well into October.

Canning tomatoes are usually available late September through early October.  Our canning tomatoes are the same high quality that we sell everyday in the market.

Peppers & Eggplant

Photo of Shenot Farm EggplantRob takes great pride in growing a colorful pepper crop. We grow many types including green, red and yellow bell; Hungarian sweet; Cubanelles; Inferno bananas, and Jalapeno.

Peppers and Eggplant are available from mid-July through October.

Pickles & Cucumbers

Be sure to try our pickling mixes available in our market.  These simple to use mixes make great pickles for everyday use and to process  for the long winter ahead.   The taste is great!

Zucchini & Summer Squash

Broccoli & Cauliflower

Cabbage, Kohlrabi & Brussels Sprouts

Sugar Snap Peas, Green & Yellow Snap Beans

Green and yellow beans  are available from late June through September.


Winter Squash

We grow acorn, buttercup, butternut, delicata, and spaghetti squash.

Decorative Gourds & Indian Corn

Shenot Farm gourds and Indian corn are available from late September through late November.

John W. (Bill) Shenot, Ed’s father, discovered the “Crown of Thorns” gourd.  It is available at Shenot’s.  The seed is also available through several seed companies under “Shenot Crown of Thorns”.
